Sarah Riopell of Woodstock has recently joined the staff of Omni Communications Group in Springfield as a graphic designer in the creative services department. She will be responsible for the conceptual development and creative implementation of a wide variety of marketing communication projects using her extensive graphic design, layout and formatting skills. Riopell worked previously as an artist for a central Illinois graphic design studio and holds a bachelor degree in graphic design from Illinois State University. She enjoys knitting, traveling to artistic locales for creative inspiration, and searching for unique additions to her collection of over 400 PEZ dispensers. Please help us welcome Sarah to Omni!

While recently visiting www.howdesign.com, I stumbled across an interesting post, that I thought was worth commenting on and sharing.
The Art Directors Club & Idealist, have created a partnership to bring like-minded creatives & causes together for social change. The two have teamed up to create www.DesignismConnects.org. This new site helps bring together & connect nonprofit organizations in need of advertising/creative services, with advertising/creative professionals who provide those services. On this site, a creative can narrow their search to the causes they believe in, with the skills they offer to find a partnership they would be interested in pursuing.
Both individual and organization can post profiles listing their needs or services. From national to global organizations to choose from, and projects ranging from printed collateral to a TV PSA, I urge fellow creatives to check out www.DesignismConnects.org if your looking for a cause to support! And the same goes for all you nonprofits out there in need of pro-bono talent, sign up now to post your cause projects! We have a new graphic designer, Jessie Betz, who has just started working at Omni Communications Group. Here is the “official” news:
Jessie Betz has joined Omni Communications Group as art department manager and will use her visual communications expertise to support Omni’s creative services department. While working closely with Omni’s creative director, Betz will coordinate the progress of agency projects from initial design through completion for custom web sites, multimedia, branding, collateral materials, packaging and print.
Prior to joining Omni, Betz gained extensive design experience working as an art director for an advertising agency in Chicago. She is a graduate of the Illinois Institute of Art in Chicago with a bachelor’s degree in visual communications. Betz is a Riverton native who has recently relocated to the Springfield area. Her hobbies include NASCAR and country music, and she is passionate about helping homeless pets through pet adoption.
